Dereverberation approaches are designed to increase listening comfort and speech intelligibility in reverberating environments (i.e. highly reflecting rooms) and diffuse background noise (e.g. babble noise). In this project, a coherence-estimate based approach is studied, which computes the similarity between the signals captured at the left and the right ear. In this way, binaural information can be exploited, i.e. differences between the left-ear and the right-ear signals can be employed to combat room reflections and background noise.
