Screening Tests

These tests are intended for use at home by everyone who is interested in the state of their hearing, or who has a general interest in hearing. They are made available via the telephone and the internet.

It is recommended to try all self-screening tests. A good result on all three tests indicates good and healthy hearing.

The information here is provided for helping and understanding patients who have performed such tests at home, and who were either advised to seek professional assistance, or who are worried about, or did not understand, the outcomes of the tests. The section also provides background information about the screening tests and how to administer them for screening purposes in clinical environments.
